FAQs

Q:  What's a FAQ?

A:   FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Question.

Q:   What are my financial obligations as a Rotarian?

A:    Club members may plan on costs annually in the ball park of $1,000 - $1,200.  Whether company-reimbursed, or you pay out-of-pocket, Club members have the following obligations as Rotarians:
Quarterly:   Payment for meals at the weekly luncheon meetings on a quarterly basis, in advance. Currently that amount is $150 each quarter.
Annually:   Annual dues of $235.00.  The first dues are pro-rated and invoiced upon induction to the Club.
Weekly:   Fun fines are $5.00.
Other:   The Club and the District have additional events such as holiday parties and leadership seminars, annual conference, etc.  These are encouraged but are also voluntary.  Costs vary depending on the event.  From time to time ad-hoc requests for assistance arise due to a particular catastrophic event such as an earthquake or tsunami, or to help a local family in crisis at a moment in time.  These are also voluntary.

Q:  What is Rotary's position on leave of absences?

A:  The current Club By-Laws state:  "Upon written petition, the Board of Directors, in its discretion, may grant a one time LEAVE OF ABSENCE not to exceed six (6) months to an active member in good standing to the point of the request.   All monetary and non-monetary requirements of the club will resume at the end of that leave.   Reasons for requesting such a leave might be financial hardship, special business requirements or illness."
